Lovely vintage silver Chinese box with hinged lid and floral repousse decoration.
The box features a mother of pearl insert on the lid with pretty floral motif. The sides are decorated with more florals and a bird on both the front and back. It it a gorgeous piece, potentially once used as a snuff box.
The box has no stamps or hallmarks but it is at very least silver plated if not solid silver.
It is in very good vintage condition, with the lid/hinges opening easily. It does show evidence of being a handmade item and is not perfect as upon close inspection, as you can see file marks, small rough scratches etc.
It measures 6.7cm x 4cm x 2.8cm.
