A very rare, mint condition 11" platter in the Rosecliffe pattern, crafted by Alfred Meakin Ltd., operating from the Royal Albert, Victoria and Highgate Potteries in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England.

Excellent vintage condition

This piece has a rectangular shape, with scalloped edge surrounding with a cream base, and pink roses and greenery pattern around the 18 kt. gold finished rim.

Great for a country kitchen, boho store or shabby chic them! It it dates from the late 1930s to early 1940s -- as Meakin changed it's backstamp after the Second World War.

9 2/8” (23 cm) wide
1” (2.5 cm) deep

Backstamp: Alfred Meakin England Rosecliffe 18 KT. Solid gold border.

BTW: Alfred was the brother of James and George, who ran their own pottery company – J&G Meakin – in nearby Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
