Product code: Maple store burl bowl
Here is a maple store burl bowl hand turned from a node off a larger burl. It has a funky bark intrusion that was entirely inside the tree which you can see judging from the bottom (the outside). This bowl has a flat spot on the bottom and two ends were turned. The other two "sides" are the original live edge minus the bark. On the live edges you can see a few scars and scrapes where it was skidded. There is a small spot of resin to repair where one of the scrapes broke the wood fibers on the top edge of the rim. Alone it weighs 3# 5ozs and it is 10-3/4" long, 7-7/8" wide and stands 4" tall. The inside rim of the bowl is 7-3/4" in diameter and the inside bowl is 3" deep. It has been finished with two coats of oil based polyurethane.
