This handmade journal is made with a hard cover from an upcycled book and measures approximately 7.75" x 5.75" (19.7 x 14.6 cm) with a 1.5" (3.8 cm) spine. It fits in your hand nicely.

The original book cover is left intact, with burlap over the spine and a bias tape tie attached. The edges of the pages are adorned with fabric ruffles, lace, fun fur, and a movable charm. Embellishments are machine-stitched to pages throughout the journal, with strings dangling out of the journal.

The journal contains three hand-sewn signatures, with a total of 92 pages (counting front and back). Although there are plenty of embellishments, it also has plenty of space for writing and customizing to your heart's content.

Almost every page is embellished with hand-painted or hand-drawn artwork, and all other pages have been carefully chosen to compliment the original art included. The pages consist of a variety of paper, including coffee- and eco-dyed papers, vintage book pages and music sheets, mixed media paper, scrapbook paper, newsprint, cardstock, notebook and grid paper, doilies, and vellum.

There is a large pocket attached to the inside of the front cover and you will find pockets, tucks, envelopes, and a variety of journaling cards and tags throughout.
