Antique Brass Gimbal 30 Minute Timer with Hanging Ring. Whilst the timer can be sat on a table, it would have been hung up, probably on a ship so that the movement would not affect the operation.

To operate, it swivels on its axis within the framework. There are 10 small knurled knobs holding it together and would be a very useful addition for the kitchen.
