It was flabbergasting to me to discover store that this piece of literature is over 143 years old! The copyright is 1877.

This is the story of a professor's daughter, Avis, who had desires for her existence other than marrying and having children. This book has been republished many times, specially in paperback form.

This novel is hardback without a dust jacket and is in decent condition considering its age The binding is loosening as can be seen in pictures.
