The housing is handmade by turning on a wood lathe. The lighter rests comfortably in the hand, with a thoughtful little place for your pinkie! Burl, a rounded knotty growth on a tree, is prized for its interesting patterns. More difficult to store turn than regular grained woods, it presents a turning challenge because of its irregularities.
The 2-piece lighter insert - with its large reservoir, meaning fewer refills - is from Vector, long known for quality lighters and smoking accessories. Replacement butane lighter fluid is available at quality cigar stores. Although Vector suggests using its own lighter fluid, of course, shown here with the caption of REFILL 60 (vectorkgm.com), it suggests any lighter fluid that has been filtered 5+ times.
