The government HF communications forces were transferred to the KGB from the Ministry of Internal Affairs by Order No. 10709rs of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of September 25, 1954.
By the order of the KGB of October 26, 1954 No. 00708, the separate regiments of the government HF communication of the MVD MVD and separate divisions of the government HF communication of the internal guard of the MVD were renamed into separate regiments and separate battalions of the government HF communications. By order of the commander of the government communications troops dated August 17, 1959, No. 0137, these units became known as units of the government communications troops of the KGB. By the order of the KGB of March 16, 1960, No. 00109, the number of separate regiments of government communications.
In store the USSR was established 15 regiments. 8 battalions, 6 companies and 3 knots were stationed abroad.
In 1960, departments of the Government Communications Forces of the KGB of the USSR were created in groups of Soviet troops abroad and in military districts in the territory of the USSR.
