Wooden Alphabet Puzzle - Learning Games store - Toddler Puzzles - Educational Toy - Non-Toxic - Hand-Painted - Laser Cut
Montessori style play can be described as keep it natural and keep it simple. Using natural materials such as metal or wood allows the young child to learn things like textures and temperature changes as they hold the item and it warms up, or a cool item that hasn't been played with in a while. It allows the child's store senses to explore the item, what does it feel like, what does it taste like (age appropriate of course), what does it sound like when tapped against another object?
In today's society, kids can be overwhelmed from toys with battery operated noises, flashing lights, or lots of motion. Your child may currently flutter between too many toys, playing with each for a minute or so, then tossing it aside to play with the next. You child is trying to make sense of this new world around them, and too many options ends in a garbled mess of confusion. By keeping it simple, your child develops their mind, their skills, and creativity comes into play.
With these beautiful, yet simple designed wooden puzzles, not only is the complexity of fitting each puzzle piece back into its slot a skill, but with a little help and guidance they can also learn their alphabet (lots of singing could be involved with this puzzle, at least for my toddler it is), the order of the alphabet, as well as more advanced skills and learning to include an introduction to spelling and objects that start with the same letter as the appropriate puzzle letter piece (Q is for quilt, queen, or quiet).
Each puzzle layout has been designed with little hands in mind. The 1/4" thick pieces are all large enough (at least 1 1/2" or larger) to comfortably fit in their hands to be placed on the board or to be held easily (I make no promises you will not lose pieces down the couch cushions though). Each piece is hand-painted with non-toxic paints and finished with a non-toxic sealant. The board is approximately 12"x18". Note that each piece is made to order and hand painted, so colors may vary slightly from those pictured.
PLEASE NOTE: This product is not intended for children under age 3 and children over 3 should be monitored during activity. Although the paints are non-toxic they are not meant for mouthing children (those who tend to place all objects in their mouth or chew on everything).
